Abstract
Many advances in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension have been achieved in recent years due to a better understanding of disease pathogenesis. In the classification of pulmonary hypertension, the etiology of the disease is diverse. Hence, it would be preferable to refer the patients to specialist centers earlier to perform the whole diagnosis work-up including right heart catheterization. However, in pulmonary hypertension, screening and early diagnosis are necessary before catheterization confirms the diagnosis. Given the complex pathogenesis of pulmonary hypertension, a multidisciplinary management is still required.
