Abstract
PurposeThe aim of this study was to retrospectively review the magnetic resonance (MR) imaging presentation of solitary spinal extradural plasmacytoma (SSEP), which originates from the dura and extends into the extradural space.Materials and methodsMR imaging features of seven patients with SSEP were analyzed.ResultsAll the tumors were spindle shaped, well defined, and located in the extradural dorsal spinal canal. Most lesions occurred in the thoracic regions with homogeneous enhancement. No bone erosion or exophytic paraspinal mass was noted.ConclusionSSEP should be considered if a well-circumscribed mass has homogeneous enhancement without bone erosion in the dorsal spinal canal.
