Abstract
The solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is an unusual spindle-cell tumor which originates from the mesenchymal cell. The SFT mainly occurs in the visceral pleura. Recently, the extrapleural SFTs located in other places were reported more frequently than before. However, the malignant SFT of the central nervous system (CNS) is extremely scarce. Here we report one case of SFT located in the pineal region. The clinical, radiological and pathological features of this case were summarized, and the pertinent literatures regarding this tumor were reviewed.
