Malignant triton tumor of the prostate: MRI findings

We report a case of malignant triton tumor of the prostate in a 41-year-old male with neurofibromatosis. The patient with acute urinary retention caused by the prostate tumor and digital rectal examination revealed a very large prostate mass with firm areas. The characteristics and the extent of the tumor were well demonstrated on CT and MRI. To our knowledge, this is the first report of malignant triton tumor being located in the prostate documented in the English literature.
