Abstract
Meningiomas are common intracranial tumours that can extend extracranially. Primary extracranial meningioma, however is a rare condition occuring about less than 1% of all meningiomas. We present a rare case of primary extracranial meningioma occuring in the left carotid sheath that was initially diagnosed as schwannoma. The case highlights the use of MR spectroscopy in the evaluation of extracranial meningioma.
