Abstract
Isolated occlusion of the splenic vein is rare, but its occurrence is more common than is generally appreciated in patients with pancreatic inflammation or neoplasm, and is frequently accompanied by the formation of collateral venous pathways. We report a case of total chronic thrombosis of the splenic and inferior mesenteric veins after pancreatitis with collateral pathway in the greater omentum.
