Abstract

Various developmental anomalies of the inferior vena cava (IVC) have been described in literature. Persistent primitive hepatic venous plexus is an extremely rare abnormality. To the best of our knowledge all previously reported cases of this condition were symptomatic due to associated conditions. The present report highlights the fact that this condition can be symptomatic and can occur in isolation. MRI can unfold complete venous abnormality in such cases non-invasively and with sonography guide the further management.
