Abstract
Isolated absence of the infrarenal inferior vena cava is an extremely rare vascular anomaly with controversial pathogenesis. This is the first report of association between absence of the infrarenal inferior vena cava and adrenal calcifications and renal hypoplasia, recognized long-term manifestations of perinatal inferior vena cava thrombosis. This is the sixth reported case in the English literature of isolated infrarenal absence of the inferior vena cava with preservation of the suprarenal segment and the only one associated with adrenal calcifications, presumably from prior hemorrhage, and ipsilateral renal hypoplasia.
