Abstract
Outsourcing is an increasingly common practice in both health care and radiology. What is outsourcing, and how is it related to such practices as offshoring and offshore outsourcing? What are the risks and rewards of outsourcing, and how do these vary among different types of business and professional models? For radiologists and radiology department personnel to make well-informed judgments about outsourcing, it is vital that we cultivate a deeper understanding of these questions.
