Abstract
A novel AMPK activator, betaâlapachone has a strong relaxation effect on precontracted cavernosal smooth muscle strips in the rabbit. And phosphorylation of AMPK and eNOS strongly related to the action of betaâlapachone. Mevalonate pathway also might be considered as a suggestive mechanism.
