Abstract
Overall kidney cancer incidence is steadily rising, especially regarding to the small tumors incidentally discovered, who represent today over 59% of cases, with a proportion of patients aged over 67 years which doubled since 1982. However, tumors under 4 cm natural history is very variable, with an average growth of 3 to 4 mm per year. Arises then the question of a radical treatment or a simple oversight in patients most vulnerable due to their age or comorbidities. Minimal invasive therapy, as radiofrequency ablation, is a reliable therapeutic alternative with low morbidity, low mortality providing reasonable middle-term oncological control.
