Abstract
Endorectal MRI is currently considered as the best imaging technique for local staging of prostate cancer. Several groups have recently reported that high resolution pelvic phased array MRI was also accurate to detect and localize intra-prostatic cancer foci. These new imaging protocols combine morphological T2W imaging with functional sequences : perfusion, diffusion and spectroscopy. The quality of the images, the signal homogeneity and cost make it a promising technique for prostate mapping and treatment planning.
