Abstract
In the high superior tension approach to abdominoplasty, maximum tension is transferred to the level of the umbilicus, an area in which vascularization is good, undermining is minimal, and perforator vessels are nearby. By transferring tension to the periumbilical area and following the basic principles of respecting large lymphatic trunks, closing all dead spaces, limiting undermining, and thrombosis prevention, the authors strive to avoid the major complications of abdominoplasty and achieve a superior aesthetic result.
