Abstract
- The tonic immobility (TI) behavior is an innate behavior associated with extreme fear.
- The corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) participates in the behavioral responses to stress.
- Activation of the CRF receptors in the basolateral and central amygdala increases TI duration.
- The CRF receptors in these structures participate in a tonic manner in the control of TI response.
