Abstract
► SHR shifted to the right the function relating adjunctive drinking to inter-food interval length. ► Adjunctive drinking was lower for WKY than SHR and Wistar rats at any inter-food interval value. ► Licking was more persistent in SHR than in the other rats at long inter-food intervals. ► SHR rats showed a steeper delay-discounting function in comparison to Wistar rats. ► Schedule-induced polydipsia levels relate more to indexes of cognitive than motor impulsivity.
