Abstract
⺠Taste perception of obese patients and healthy subjects was examined by fMRI. ⺠Three tastants with distinct hedonic qualities and palatability were used. ⺠Higher activity of several brain areas was found in the obese group for all tastes. ⺠These results help to explain the background of overeating in obesity.
