Abstract
⺠We studied concurrent segregation based on inharmonicity and asynchronous onsets. ⺠The object-related negativity (ORN) served to index concurrent sound segregation. ⺠With increased onset asynchrony, induced by a 500-ms leading partial, ORN decreased. ⺠Long onset asynchrony thus does not act as a direct cue in concurrent segregation. ⺠Its effect is indirect, mediated via perceptual stability of the leading partial.
