Abstract
► The βI and βIII tubulin isotypes occur in both cell bodies and processes in embryonic, newborn and adult neurons. ► The same is true for the βII isotype except that in newborn neurons it is largely concentrated in the processes. ► The βV isotype occurs transiently in newborn neurons. ► Our results suggest a special role for βII in growth of processes in newborn mouse neurons. ► Our results suggest a special role for βV in newborn mouse neurons.
