Abstract
⺠Combination therapy is advocated for successful treatment of cerebral stroke. ⺠Ifenprodil, a NR2b antagonist, neuroprotective profile was analyzed in rat stroke model. ⺠Further, its combination with flurbiprofen, an ASIC1a inhibitor was also analyzed. ⺠The combination at low doses was as effective as ifenprodil alone at high doses. ⺠Thus combination therapy can improve the risk/benefit ratio for neuroprotectants.
