âºZinc influx into hippocampal cells facilitates via AMPA/kainate receptor activation. âºThe zinc influx attenuates subsequent induction of NMDA receptor-dependent CA1 LTP. âºNMDA receptor-independent CA1 LTP is less susceptibility to the zinc influx. âºZinc influx differentially acts on the induction of CA1 LTP components.
