Abstract
⺠Complete retinal networks must be mapped by connectomics and cannot be inferred. ⺠Transmission electron microscope imaging provides optimal synaptic resolution. ⺠Many existing electron microscopes can be converted to connectomics imaging. ⺠Ultrastructurally compliant molecular tags are required for fast connectome assembly. ⺠Retinal neurons thought to be well-understood are proving to be unexpectedly complex.
