Abstract
⺠Spatial modulation of action potentials carries information regarding presented images. ⺠A comparative statistical analysis shows that spike directivity displays higher separability to input images compared to temporal patterns. ⺠Statistical analysis of spike directivity in a neuronal ensemble tells more about the image class than the separate analysis performed in single cells. ⺠Information is electrically integrated at the network level in the brain to generate a better discrimination of presented images.
