Abstract
⺠We have examined the neuromodulation of sensory responses after spinal cord injury in lamprey. ⺠Proprioceptive responses were potentiated and GABAergic inhibition reduced after lesioning. ⺠Blocking endogenous GABA increased proprioceptive responses only in lesioned animals. ⺠GABAergic modulation differed depending on the extent of recovery. ⺠Somatostatin alone had no effect, but in lesioned animals it reduced the effects of GABA.
