Abstract
► The cellular effects of mAChR activation were examined in human neocortical slices. ► Intracellular recordings revealed: CCh increases AP firing via M1 mAChR/KV7 channels. ► CCh decreases GABA release via activation of M2 mAChR. ► CCh attenuates glutamate release via activation of M4 mAChR. ► These effects are discussed towards hyperexcitability and cognition in human cortex.
