Abstract
⺠The cellular effects of mAChR activation were examined in human neocortical slices. ⺠Intracellular recordings revealed: CCh increases AP firing via M1 mAChR/KV7 channels. ⺠CCh decreases GABA release via activation of M2 mAChR. ⺠CCh attenuates glutamate release via activation of M4 mAChR. ⺠These effects are discussed towards hyperexcitability and cognition in human cortex.
