Abstract
► Deletion of profilin1 in the brain leads to Purkinje cell loss. ► Purkinje cell loss begins around P15 and progresses into adulthood. ► PC-specific inactivation of profilin1 does not affect Purkinje cell survival. ► Purkinje cells complexity is largely preserved in Nes-Cre:Pfn1flx/flx mice. ► Profilin1 is not critical for parallel fiber-Purkinje cell synapse function.
