Abstract
â¶We model birth hypoxia using the precocial spiny mouse. â¶Hypoxia significantly increased lipid peroxidation in the cerebrum. â¶Hypoxia caused region-dependent increases in BAX, cytochrome c and caspase-3. â¶Maternal creatine supplementation prevented adverse changes in hypoxia brains. â¶Creatine has neuroprotective capacity for newborn.
