Abstract
â¶VGLUT1 and VGLUT2 define three subsets of Scarpa's ganglionic neurons. â¶Vestibular primary afferents use VGLUT1/VGLUT2 to load glutamate at axon terminals. â¶Vestibular hair cells use VGLUT3 to load glutamate. â¶More vestibular nulcear neurons express VGLUT2 mRNA than VGLUT1 mRNA.
