Abstract
⺠Peripheral nerve injury resulted in down-regulation of spinal glutamate transporters. ⺠Valproate restores spinal glutamate transporters to alleviate neuropathic pain. ⺠Valproate also enhanced analgesia from the glutamate transporter activator riluzole.
