Abstract
⺠We studied subventricular zone (SVZ) in a patient with (FTD-ALS) and a control. ⺠GAP and ribbon layer are different in FTD-ALS, cells in these layers are astrocytes. ⺠Ki-67, PCNA, Histone immunohistochemistry showed proliferation in the ribbon layer. ⺠PSA-NCAM for migrating cells and Tuj-1 for immature neurons increased in FTD-ALS. ⺠An increased proliferation in SVZ in FTD-ALS is suggested.
