Abstract
⺠The levels of Kv4.2 mRNA in the dendrites are increased by neuronal activity. ⺠The increase is mediated by transcription- and translation-independent mechanisms. ⺠The effect of high potassium is mimicked by glutamate treatment. ⺠The increase is mediated by synaptic NMDA receptor- and Ca2+-dependent mechanisms.
