Abstract
⺠Rp-8-Br-cAMPS (a selective inhibitor of protein kinase A) acts antidepressant-like in the rat forced swim test. ⺠Rp-8-Br-cAMPS increases cerebellar CREB phosphorylation. ⺠Rp-8-Br-cAMPS increases cAMP and cGMP in several brain areas. ⺠The antidepressant-like effects of this drug may be mediated by a PKA-independent mechanism(s) such as Epac.
