Abstract
▶ Evidence suggests that psychiatric patients are at an increased vascular risk. ▶ Low levels of soluble RAGE (sRAGE) indicate an increased risk of atherothrombosis. ▶ Levels of sRAGE were lower in schizophrenia, major depression and bipolar disorder. ▶ Soluble RAGE may contribute to cardiovascular risk in psychiatric patients.
