Abstract
⺠The mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway may be involved in epileptogenesis. ⺠mTOR inhibitors decrease seizures in animal models and patients with tuberous sclerosis. ⺠mTOR inhibitors may inhibit seizures in models of acquired injury-induced epilepsy. ⺠mTOR may mediate anticonvulsant or antiepileptogenic effects of the ketogenic diet.
