Abstract
▶ In Parkinson's disease the decrease of olfactory function seems to depend on the initial olfactory status: patients whose ability to smell initially is not highly affected show a clear impairment at follow-up while initially low affected patients do not or even improve. ▶ The detectability of OERPs in patients suffering from Parkinson's disease changes over time, indicating fluctuating olfactory function. ▶ The course of Parkinson's disease is not correlated to changes in olfactory acuity.
