Abstract
ⶠThe disaccharide HA2 and especially the tetrasaccharide HA4, significantly improved motor function. ⶠHA4 treatment enhanced axonal regeneration/sprouting, as assessed by corticospinal tract tracer fiber counts. ⶠHA4 treatment also significantly suppressed the accumulation of Iba-1-positive cells in the lesion two weeks after injury.
