Abstract
⺠Peripheral nerve grafts permit bridge lesions in the CNS, but they not permit the exit of axons. ⺠Olfactory enseathing glia (OEG) may solve this problem. ⺠We compared peripheral nerve grafts to reconstruct the nigrostriatal pathway with or without OEG. ⺠OEG permitted a higher fiber density inside the graft and more axons exiting the grafts. ⺠This may be relevant to apply grafts to central nervous system reconstruction in several diseases.
