Abstract
ⶠAdenosine reduced IPSC frequency of presynaptic PVN cells projecting to medulla. ⶠAdenosine effect was blocked by antagonist, and mimicked by agonist of A1 receptor. ⶠAdenosine increased paired-pulse ratio of evoked IPSCs. ⶠIn conclusion, adenosine inhibits GABA release via presynaptic A1 receptors. ⶠResults indicate potential roles of adenosine in regulation of sympathetic outflow.
