Abstract
⺠A novel protein, brain-derived integrating factor-1 (BDIF1) was identified. ⺠BDIF1 was intensely expressed by astrocytes and comprises TBC, SH3 and RUN domains. ⺠BDIF1 bound to connexin-43, but not to connexins found in neurons and other glia. ⺠BDIF1 co-localized with connexin-43 in astrocytes.
