Abstract
⺠Single prolonged stress (SPS) enhances hippocampal glucocorticoid receptor (GR) levels. ⺠SPS increases phosphorylated Akt in the hippocampus coincident with GR increases. ⺠SPS does not produce unconditioned anxiety-like behavior or disrupt spontaneous locomotor activity.
