Abstract
												⺠Salicylate suppresses cochlear function selectively with less effect at mid-frequency. ⺠Salicylate enhances neural activity in auditory thalamus, cortex, and amygdala. ⺠Systemic salicylate application results in frequency map reorganization in the brain. ⺠More neurons turn to represent tinnitus frequency after systemic salicylate injection.
