Abstract
âºCochlear synthetic transfer functions (STFs) are computed as combinations of filter components, derived from auditory-nerve fiber tuning curves, and signal front delays. âºThe STFs predict several salient timing features of basilar-membrane vibrations, both measured and inferred from responses of auditory-nerve fibers, as well as their variation with cochlear location. âºThe findings indicate strong links between cochlear frequency tuning and the timing of responses.
