Abstract
⺠The biocide chromated copper arsenate (CCA) leached from wood to the environment, but not significantly. ⺠The dispersion of CCA into the ground was modeled. ⺠In six years of the experiment the CCA-treated wood showed no degradation. ⺠The chemical structure of untreated wood has changed significantly after weathering, fungal decay or deterioration.
