Abstract
► Efficacy of the developed phytoreactor was increased by bacterial augmentation. ► The system was very easy to maintain and required no extra nutrient input. ► COD, BOD, TOC, TDS and TSS of the effluent and dye mixture were reduced effectively. ► Textile effluent and dye mixture showed 86 and 89% dye removal respectively. ► Toxicity studies revealed the reduced toxicity of wastewaters after the treatment.
