Abstract
⺠MvRL, a thermostable lectin, was evaluated for termiticidal effect on Nasutitermes corniger. ⺠MvRL was highly toxic for workers and soldiers (LC50: 0.130 and 0.085 mg mlâ1). ⺠Among all termiticidal lectins described, MvRL is the highest active so far. ⺠MvRL inhibited trypsin and stimulated acid phosphatase activities from termites. ⺠Thus, MvRL may cause physiological damage through modulation of enzyme activities.
