Abstract
► It is first report for the adaptation of an Egyptian soil to atrazine mineralization. ► Arthrobacter sp. TES6 transforming atrazine to cyanuric acid was characterized. ► trzN, atzB and atzC gene combination accords with cyanuric acid accumulation. ► This study raises questions about the pandemic dispersion of the trzN, atzBC genes.
