Abstract
⺠Validation of a new procedure for static composting of olive mill waste (OMW). ⺠OMW composting was carried out in gas-permeable bags. ⺠Dimension of bags ensured adequate passive aeration and thermal inertia. ⺠The process led to “stable” and “mature” compost rich in humic substances. ⺠The system showed to be comparable to conventional composting procedures.
