Abstract
⺠Bacterial community was enriched in chemostat for degradation of dibenzofuran (DF). ⺠Dibenzofuran utilization was tested in soil microcosm by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. ⺠DGGE analysis indicated fate and potency of bacterium for utilization of DF. ⺠Bacterium enriched in alkaline condition utilized DF after 180 days in microcosm. ⺠The complete degradation of DF was by formation of gentisic acid and catechol.
