Abstract
► Joshua tree seeds are primarily dispersed by scatter hoarding rodents. ► Rodents remove Joshua tree seeds directly from indehiscent seed pods and hoard them in small caches. ► Burial by rodents enhances the probability of Joshua tree seed germination in arid environments. ► Joshua tree seeds do not appear to be dispersed by abiotic means.
