► Monitoring of fog harvesting by stem flow in Stipagrostis sabulicola. ► Collected fog water was a total harvest of 4-5 L per mound during a fog event. ► Soil water content increased substantially within a mound during a fog event. ► Fog harvesting represents a substantial water source for S. sabulicola.
