Abstract
⺠Caragana microphylla shrubs induce spatiotemporal heterogeneity of soil properties. ⺠Development of C. microphylla shrubs creates fertile islands. ⺠Intensity of fertile islands is affected by the increase of the shrub age. ⺠C. microphylla shrubs facilitate the development of herbaceous species diversity.
